Here Near The End

Odette frowned, "Does he know you're here?" She asked quietly.

She shrugged. "Just beaucse we're togheter now doens't mean he has to know where I am all the time. I still got my way of life, he knows that..."

Odette nodded, "Just don't over work yourself or something on my behalf." She said quietly, she then moved up a little bit, "So what has happened since we last talked besides....well this." She asked and gestured at her stomach.

She rubbed her arm, glancing around the room. "For me? Nothing much really. Mostly I've been busy with Mowgli," she said with a small smile. "And John's been busy, haven't really seen him in a while. Well, not like I'm not busy either... Hahaha..."

Odette smiled sadly, "At least now I can give you those cooking lessons." She pointed out, though it wouldn't be easy since she was bed-ridden.

"Sure, when you're able to stand up normaly. Until then you'll have to suffer with my cooking," she laughed. "You're lucky i'm good at healthy stuff. Good for you I'm gonna be a doctor one day so you'll be back on your feet in no time."

Odette smiled, "I'm glad to hear it, after all I don't want to be stuck in a bed for that much longer.' She said with a sigh. "How long do you think it'll be before I can walk?" She asked.

She put a finger under her chin in thought. "Can't really say for now, a few days or so i think..." she mused. "Oh crap! I forgot to go by the food!" she said in realisation. "I'll be back soon, don't move from that bed!" she orderd and was out the door.

Odette watched her leave with a small smile on her face before she looked back up at the ceiling, not like I can really move anyway she thought with some bitter humor.

after 10 minutes have past since the gypsy woman had left, the door opened again but not to reveal her.
Michael closed the door gently behind him, not saying anything as he walke dover to the bed and sat down, his back facing Odette.

Odette's eyes widened when she recognized Michael but she frowned when she saw the look on his face, "Michael.....what's wrong?" She asked as she slowly moved to sit up.

"I left," he said simply, staring empty ahead of him. "I left him."

Odette wasn't exactly sure how to respond and then lightly touched his arm, "I....how did that happen?" She asked quietly, she knew how much the brother's loved each other...so this was news to her.

He brushed off her hand, still not turning around to face her. "Beacuse of you..." he said darkly, wanting to blame her her for all of this. But he wouldn't beaucse he know that's not true.

Odette bit her lip, "Oh....Michael, I never meant to come between you and your brother." She said quietly, she felt horrible. Its my fault they're no longer together......wait why does this bother me so much?

"I know," he muuterd. "But you and your damn mother.... it's alwasy been you two... I knew this would happen beacuse of you...!" he spat and rubbed his head. He still felt some of the tears o his face and felt ashamned. He thought he had stopped crying a lont time ago.

Odette flinched at his words, "I would say I'm sorry but we both know how much you hate it when I say that. You didn't have to stand up for me back in the stables but you did.....and I know it wasn't easy for you....I don't know close you and Joseph are but I know it must have been very close." She paused and pursed her lips, "Once this heals....I'm gone and you won't have to be apart from your brother anymore. I meant what I said, I never meant for that to happen." She said sadly.

He glanced at her this time, expression pained. "You do whatever you want. Stop thinking abiut others when it on't do you any good. We're through. I shoudl've left him along time ago when he..." he trailed off, not wanting to think about the past and looked ahead of him again.
He already wnated to run back to Joseph.

Odette frowned, "I......want you to know that I'll always be here to talk.....if you need too." She added and then winced, "Not that you need to talk to anyone, I just am....rambling..." She said and rubbed her forehead. I'm such an idiot

"Thank you," he interupted her. "Surprisngly, I appreciate it."
He never talked to anyone beside Jospeh about himself, And Barely evn to Jospeh. 'Cause what was there to talk about between thme, when they both hated their past?

She started to smile again, "Thats good to hear....so any other reason you wanted to visit little ol' me?" She teased, she hoped he would talk to her sometime.....besides it wasn't like she had much else to do and she wanted to know more about him.

He rolled his eyes. At least she was smiling again, startign to get back to ehr old self slowy. "Obviously I'm here to see if you're still alive. You just won't die huh."

She shook her head, "No, though many people have tried. However I owe you one, after all you were the one who made sure I survived so thank you." She said with a little smile.

His eye twichted. "I guess it' be too much to never thank me again?" he mumbled. "You're still annoying as hell..."

She couldn't help the little giggle that escaped and then winced as her stomach ached, "Admit it...you like how annoying I can be." She teased.
